Trash and Recycling transition

Starting Nov. 1, Community Waste Disposal (CWD) will begin serving the city’s trash and recycling needs. As part of the switch from the current service provider there will be a change of recycling bins at every household, new recycling pick-up days for select addresses, and new services.

Recycling bin transition

From Oct. 26-31, CWD will begin replacing the current 65-gallon recycling carts with new CWD 65-gallon carts for all residents. CWD will deliver the carts on regularly scheduled recycling days after Progressive empties and removes its carts. Each delivered cart will include an informational brochure highlighting pick-up schedules, services, customer support info, and more. Progressive carts are property of Progressive and must be returned.

Progressive will collect its recycling carts that were not picked up the first time from Nov. 2-7. If a customer still has a Progressive recycling cart after Nov. 8 they can leave it on the curb during their recycling day and CWD will collect it.

Residents have the ability to upgrade their 65-gallon CWD cart to a 95-gallon cart, at no additional cost, after the transition by calling CWD at 972.392.9300. The 65-gallon carts will be delivered to all households first.

New Recycling Pick-Up Days

While a majority of recycling pick-up days will remain the same, a small portion of residents will see a change in their weekly recycling day. Trash pick-up days will remain the same city-wide.

Residents south of Cheek-Sparger Road and west of Brown Trail will have Thursday recycling pick-up. Residents south of Hall-Johnson Road and west of Montclair Drive to Colleyville Boulevard will have Friday recycling pickup.

Affected residents will receive a door-hanger that says the new recycling day.
