Haunted Trail Fest Volunteer Form
This year's event is Saturday, October 19, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. The event features carnival games, a pumpkin patch, a costume contest, and, of course, the Haunted Trail.
Groups are guided through a dark and scary trail with a variety of scenes. These scenes (witches, graveyard, zombies, etc) will include a variety of lighting, props, and robotic characters, some of which may need assistance in getting started (the sensors are not as sensitive in the dark) by our live action characters. Some scenes require live characters, as well. To be a character on the trail, please wear appropriate costuming. Purchasing a costume is not necessary. Many opt to wear ragged or ripped old clothing and ghoulish makeup.
* Trail volunteers must arrive, at the Information Booth, by 5:15 p.m. dressed and "ready to scare." If you need assistance with character make-up, arrive by 4:45 p.m. Please allow sufficient time to park and reach the Information Booth.
* The event and trail opens at 6:00 p.m. All volunteers need to be in place prior to the start of the event.
* Volunteers must work through the duration of the event.
* Keep in mind that the event is outdoors and in a nature center. Wear bug spray and be aware that poison ivy is present on the trail, although we try to "treat" these areas as much as possible. Please dress and cover exposed areas, especially on the feet and legs and wear closed toe shoes (athletic shoes or other very comfortable shoes). Dress appropriately for the weather.
*Volunteer forms will be signed, at the Information Booth, upon conclusion of the event.
