Join the community for the annual lighting of the Christmas tree outside Colleyville City Hall to ring in the holidays.

Be there early to light the two-story Christmas tree with the help of Santa and Colleyville’s Mayor and City Council. Many of the activities that make this a Colleyville family tradition return including choral performances from local schools, photos with Santa, live reindeer, a holiday market, crafts, games, and more. Holiday fare and beverages will also be on sale. Admission and parking are free.

Christmas Tree Lighting

The lighting of Colleyville's two-story Christmas Tree will take place at 5:30 p.m. on the Plaza at City Hall.The Plaza is located in front of Colleyville City Hall and the Colleyville Public Library.

Community Stage

Get into the holiday spirit with performances by several area school choirs on our community stage. The community stage is located in the Plaza. Performances include: 

 5 p.m.  CES Cowboy Chorale (Colleyville Elementary)
 5:30 p.m.  Heritage Singers (Heritage Elementary)
 6 p.m.  Texan Choir (Bransford Elementary)
 6:30 p.m.  O.C. Taylor Choir
 7 p.m.  Cross Timbers Middle School Choir
 7:30 p.m.  Inspire Academy

 

Visit with Santa

Children of all ages are invited to visit with Santa inside Colleyville City Hall, starting at 5:45 p.m. Don't wait until the last minute, the line for Santa will close at 7:45 p.m. A complimentary photo is provided to every family. 

Activities

Plenty of complimentary activities and entertainment will be at the Tree Lighting event including:
• Inflatable games including a bounce house, 60ft. obstacle course, 20ft. slide, and zipline
• Holiday crafts
• Mini train rides
• Live reindeer
• Pony rides
• Petting zoo
• Carnival games
• Cookie decorating

Holiday Movies

Alamo Drafthouse will be showing Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas and other holiday favorites on their giant inflatable screen in the south lawn.

Christmas Tree Lighting & Fireworks Show

The lighting of North Richland Hills' 46-foot-tall Christmas Tree will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Stormy Plaza and will be immediately followed by a dazzling fireworks display. Stormy Plaza is located at the intersection of Hawk Avenue and Grand Avenue, just across from the NRH Library. A portion of Parker Avenue will be temporarily closed to traffic during the fireworks show. 

 

Visit with Santa

Children of all ages are invited to share their Christmas lists with Santa inside the Community Room at the NRH Library, starting at 6 p.m. The line for Santa will close at 8:45 p.m. Be sure to bring a camera to take your own photos! 

 

Santa's Workshop Activities

Santa's Workshop at the NRH Library will offer 14 holiday themed crafts and activities for children ages 3 and up. The cost to take part in the crafts is $3 per child. To be able to complete the crafts by 9 p.m., the line will close at 8:30 p.m. or earlier if tickets sell out. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

NRH Centre Plaza Stage -  The Vinyl Stripes Concert

The Vinyl Stripes return to North Richland Hills to perform holiday hits and Rockabilly Surf starting at 7 p.m. on the NRH Centre's outdoor plaza. Seating will be on the lawn. Bring your friends and family, along with your lawn chairs and blankets, for a great night of music and fun. 

 

Community Stage

Get into the holiday spirit with performances by several area children's choirs and community groups on our community stage. The community stage will be located on Grand Avenue near the Christmas Tree. Performances include:  

•    5:45 p.m. Academy at CF Thomas School Choir

•    6:00 p.m. Raise the Barre Dancers

•    6:15 p.m. Walker Creek Elementary School Coyote Choir

•    6:30 p.m. Christmas Tree Lighting and Fireworks Show

•    6:45 p.m. North Ridge Elementary School Choir

•    7:00 p.m. Holiday Heights Elementary School Husky Harmonics

•    7:15 p.m. Snow Heights Elementary School Choir

•    7:30 p.m. ILT Guitar Ensemble

•    7:45 p.m. Grace Hula Dancers

•    8:00 p.m. Artistry in Motion

•    8:15 p.m. Stage Notes

 

Dallas Puppet Theater

Pix Smith and his marionettes will provide entertainment for all ages with a strolling show along Hawk Avenue. The Dallas Puppet Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the performing, visual, and creative art of puppetry through an ongoing series of family performances, guest artists, school programs, workshops and outreach programs.

 

Selfie Scenes

There will be numerous photo opportunities along Hawk and Grand Avenues and inside the NRH Library. Don't forget to bring your camera to take selfies and holiday family portraits!

 

Parking

Event parking is free at the NRH Centre located at 6000 Hawk Ave. and the Birdville High School parking lot at the southeast corner of Mid Cities Blvd and Hawk Ave. Handicap Parking is located in the NRH Centre lot, 6000 Hawk Avenue. An ATM will be available onsite, near the west entrance to the Library. 

Please leave pets at home.

NRH Library will close at Noon. A portion of Hawk Avenue next to the Library and NRH Centre Plaza will be closed starting at 1 p.m. NRH Centre will close at 4 p.m.
