Place all trash and recyclable items out no later than 7 a.m. for pickup between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on your service days. Please ensure the trash receptacles and the recycle cart are separated by at least three feet, and three feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches.
Trash will be collected twice a week. Household trash may be placed in customer-owned cans or disposable bags or boxes.
Weight specifications: When filled, containers may not weigh more than 50 lbs. Colleyville residents do not have free access to any area landfills. Dumping charges are based on the weight or size of the load and will vary from site to site. Disposal of biodegradable items (tree limbs and brush) may be less expensive if taken to an area composter.

Environmental Collection Center
Household Hazardous Waste Items: The City of Colleyville contracts with Fort Worth’s Environmental Collection Center (ECC), where residents can dispose of household hazardous waste items (pesticides, paints, chemicals, etc.) at the ECC.
You may use a recent water bill or a current driver’s license as proof of residency. The ECC is located at 6400 Bridge St. between I-30 and Loop 820. While residents are not directly charged for drop offs, Fort Worth charges the city of Colleyville a set fee per household drop off, so please consider collecting your household hazardous waste items and taking them in a single trip rather than taking a few items in several trips. Automotive items such as Freon and motor oil can be taken to local automotive stores. Please contact the automotive store before taking items.
What’s Accepted at the ECC?
Acids, aerosol cans, antifreeze, batteries (all kinds, including car batteries), brake fluid, cooking oil, craft chemicals, degreasers, drain cleaner, fertilizer, fluorescent light bulbs, compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), herbicides, household chemicals, motor oil, paints and stains, paint thinners, pest strips, pesticides, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, oil filters, solvents, transmission fluid, and varnish.
What’s NOT Accepted at the ECC?
Ammunition, asbestos, building materials, butane cylinders, electronics, explosives, medical waste, PCBs, pharmaceuticals, propane cylinders, radioactive material, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, tires, refrigerators, freezers, and TVs.
If you have a fire extinguisher that is expired or needs to be safely disposed of, please contact the Colleyville Fire Department at 817.503.1401. Fire Extinguishers can be dropped off at the Central Fire Station at 5209 Colleyville Boulevard.

Seasonal Leaf Pick-Up
CWD, Colleyville’s trash and recycling service provider, will run special collection routes to recycle bagged leaves starting in December. These dates include:
December 7, 2019
December 14, 2019
January 4, 2020
January 11, 2020
The collections begin at 10 a.m. to allow additional time for residents to rake and bag leaves. CWD will also pick up and recycle Christmas trees on those special collection days in January. Just remember to remove all decorations and the tree stand.
To participate, residents just need to set out leaves bagged in brown paper lawn bags on the designated collection days. CWD will still collect leaves in plastic bags set out on regular garbage collection days but these will just go to the landfill. If residents set out craft bags for leaf recycling a few days early CWD will leave them for the Saturday collections. With that in mind, residents should be aware of and comply with their Homeowner Association’s policies.
