City launches Q1P initiative to assist businesses on SH26

Tuesday, January 23 2018 3:53 PM

In an effort to assist businesses on SH26 impacted by the construction, Colleyville has launched the Quarter 1 Promotion Program (Q1P).

The highway project has affected businesses along Colleyville’s main commercial thoroughfare by altering traffic and business driveways. This program aims to help those feeling the construction’s impact. Eligible businesses within the SH26 Project corridor can apply to receive a grant from the city, up to $1,000, toward an advertising campaign.

In addition to assisting local businesses, this program serves as a catalyst to boost local sales tax. This program is only a piece of the City’s plan to assist local business. City staff are also working on a shop local campaign encouraging residents to visit the businesses within the construction zone.

This program is limited to advertising through March 31, 2018, and the feedback and results of this program will help shape economic development programs.

Qualifying businesses must:

  • Be located within the SH26 Project corridor, from Brown Trail to John McCain Road, and abutting the state highway.
  • Submit a request for dollars up to $1,000, with price quote from advertiser(s) and provide a copy of concept or a detailed explanation of the campaign.
  • Complete a W-9 form
  • Run an advertisement by March 31, 2018. The ad must contain the phrase, “Colleyville is open for business.”
  • Submit proof of advertisement campaign to city staff
