Purpose of the Grant
In Colleyville, over 95% of creeks, streams, and regional drainage channels are on private property. The property owner or Homeowner’s Association (HOA) is responsible for maintenance. The Regional Stormwater Enhancement Grant is designed to provide funding assistance for the repair or improvement of failing drainage infrastructure that provides a regional benefit.
How Much is the Grant?
The Regional Stormwater Enhancement Grant provides a 2:1 matching opportunity up to $25,000 for improvements to creek embankments, blue line streams, and regional drainage channels that provide a regional benefit. The program has an annual budget of $150,000. Funds are awarded on a first-come, first served basis, pending review and approval by the City’s Drainage Committee.
What is the Funding Criteria?
- Qualifying projects must have a 20-year anticipated improvement life and
- All work must relate to a regional drainage benefit as determined by the Drainage Committee. Individual lot drainage improvements will not be funded
What is the Approval Process?
- Once an application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the City’s Drainage Committee.
- Once approved, necessary permit criteria will be reviewed, and funding will be allocated.
- A funding agreement will be executed, and W-9 will be required prior to construction and reimbursement.
- After construction is complete and inspected, reimbursement will be issued to the applicant as per the funding agreement.
