Library Temporarily Closed September 17-25
The Colleyville Public Library will be closed to the public for a little over a week due to on-going remodeling at the facility. The Library will be closed from Monday, Sept. 17 through Tuesday, Sept. 25. The Library will re-open to the community on Wednesday, Sept. 26 for normal business hours. All youth story times and adult programs will be temporarily suspended during this time, however, classes will run one week longer into December.
The temporary closure is to ensure safety for all library users. Several key aspects of the project necessitated the closure. Workers will be cutting into concrete for the installation of conduit for electrical and data lines. In addition, new carpet will be placed throughout the first floor. The project also calls for the transfer and repositioning of the library bookshelves to their new location in the building.
The Library will have most services available during the short closure at its drive-up window, located at the north side of the building. The drive-up window will be staffed and open at 9 a.m. each day during construction. Library patrons will be able to pick-up or drop-off all items as well as pay fines or ask a reference question. Patrons will have several options to check out library materials. Patrons will still be able to place items on hold online and pick up their requests at the drive-up window. They may also call the Circulation Desk, 817-503-1161 or email the Library at email@example.com.
The spatial reconfiguration of the Library began in early August. Both levels of the Library have been undergoing updates to technology, floor space, shelving, lighting, and much more. The transformation will allow the Library to better serve the changing needs of the Colleyville community and provide a more user-friendly and efficient facility for all citizens.
