Welcome to Colleyville
Once a rural farming community, Colleyville has become a perennial favorite on the “best of…” lists in Dallas and Fort Worth, across Texas, and around the nation. Money magazine named the city to its list of “Best 100 Places to Live in America,” awarding it the highest ranking in Texas. Colleyville’s small town ambiance and big city amenities continue to earn it a place on the “best” lists of popular publications, including Newsweek and D Magazine.

City Council Grants Sensor Rebate
According to city ordinance, all automatic irrigation systems in the city must be fitted with rain and freeze sensors by August 2008. To encourage compliance with the ordinance, the City Council has granted a one-time $20 rebate (credit) on customer water bills.
In August 2006, the Colleyville City Council adopted Ordinance O-06-1587 amending the water conservation and drought contingency plan. One part of the plan calls for all automatic irrigation systems to be fitted with rain and freeze sensors by August 2008. To assist our residential and commercial customers, the city of Colleyville is offering a one-time $20 rebate (credit) on water usage fees, following verification of rain and freeze sensors installed by August 31, 2008.  The rebate will appear as a credit on a future water bill.

Potential Station Identified in Colleyville
The city of Colleyville has been in discussions with the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) about including a potential future rail station in our city.
The T has instructed the Southwest-to-Northeast Rail Corridor environmental team to include the footprint (the land area that would be required for the station) for a proposed site in its environmental review and analysis document. The T is including Colleyville in its environmental process in order to preserve the option of a Colleyville station in the future, should the city elect to fund the commuter rail project.

Colleyville’s Old Tyme Bar-B-Q Cook-Off, benefiting Special Olympics, is scheduled Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, at The Village at Colleyville. The cook-off is a nationally sanctioned, judged event and is the second largest barbecue cook-off in Texas.
Friday evening’s events kick off at 6:00 p.m. with a free fish fry (until the fish is gone). Other activities for the evening include: children’s activities, carnival fare, and open-mike karaoke.
On Saturday, the serious business of Texas barbecue gets underway. Gates open to the public at 11:00 a.m. While the cookers get down to serious cooking, the public can do some serious eating with heaping plates of Texas Q for $5; $6 for a barbecue plate and a beverage.
The popular pie contest, sponsored by the Colleyville Woman's Club, lets everyone get into the spirit of the competition.
