Hiring Process & Requirements

In order to be considered for employment with the Colleyville Fire Department, you must meet the following minimum requirements at the time of application submittal:   
  • 18 years of age
  • No felony convictions
  • Basic Firefighter certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection
  • Emergency Medical Technician – Basic through the Texas Department of State Health Services
  • Paramedic certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services may be preferred in some instances
  • Texas Class B driver’s license
  • All vaccinations current and complete
   The hiring process for the Colleyville Fire Department includes the following:  
  • Submission of City application and Colleyville Fire Department background packet.
  • Submission of a passing Tarrant County College physical agility testing certificate that is not more than 180 days old
  • Application screening
  • Panel interviews for selected candidates
  • Chief’s interviews for selected candidates
  • Conditional job offer
  • Complete physical including evaluation of labwork and pulmonary function test
  • Full drug screen
  • Cardiac stress testing
