Hiring Process & Requirements
In order to be considered for employment with the Colleyville Fire Department, you must meet the following minimum requirements at the time of application submittal: - 18 years of age
- No felony convictions
- Basic Firefighter certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection
- Emergency Medical Technician – Basic through the Texas Department of State Health Services
- Paramedic certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services may be preferred in some instances
- Texas Class B driver’s license
- All vaccinations current and complete
The hiring process for the Colleyville Fire Department includes the following: - Submission of City application and Colleyville Fire Department background packet.
- Submission of a passing Tarrant County College physical agility testing certificate that is not more than 180 days old
- Application screening
- Panel interviews for selected candidates
- Chief’s interviews for selected candidates
- Conditional job offer
- Complete physical including evaluation of labwork and pulmonary function test
- Full drug screen
- Cardiac stress testing
