POSITION TITLE OPEN: Community and Business Development Director

DEPARTMENT: Community Development APPLICATION DEADLINE: Until Filled

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Plans, directs, manages and oversees the activities and operations of the Community and Economic Development Department and Building Inspection Department in order to assure compliance with the Master Land Use Plan and Land Development Regulations. Oversees economic programs and initiatives for business retention, promotion, marketing, and expansion. Provides general assistance and support to the City Manager.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee processes for reviewing zoning and subdivision applications for compliance with all applicable standards, policies and guidelines. Oversee the review of all zoning and platting submissions with developers, property owners and city staff. Negotiate facility agreements with developers. Develop and assist in implementing city objectives related to economic activities. Interact with area chamber of commerce and similar groups to promote Colleyville business.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in planning, architecture, business administration, or a closely related field required. Masters degree in related field preferred. Six years responsible experience in city planning or a closely related field, with two years of administrative and supervisory experience. Four years responsible experience in commercial real estate, economic development, tourism, marketing or a closely related field, focusing on the attraction of retail and sales tax generating businesses.

SALARY RANGE: $7,638.52 - $10,334.42 per month
