| Potential Station Identified in Colleyville |
|
The city of Colleyville has been in discussions with the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) about including a potential future rail station in our city. The T has instructed the Southwest-to-Northeast Rail Corridor environmental team to include the footprint (the land area that would be required for the station) for a proposed site in its environmental review and analysis document. The T is including Colleyville in its environmental process in order to preserve the option of a Colleyville station in the future, should the city elect to fund the commuter rail project.
The Southwest-to-Northeast Rail Corridor project is a proposed 40-mile commuter rail line that would carry passengers from southwest Fort Worth to downtown Fort Worth, northeast to Grapevine and into the north end of DFW International Airport. The potential site in Colleyville is located at the intersection of the proposed rail line with John McCain Road. A very preliminary concept has been developed and is shown below. The concept will be refined as needed throughout the environmental review and engineering and design phases of the Southwest-to-Northeast Rail Corridor.
