| City announces mayor for a day contest |

Colleyville, Texas…The city of Colleyville has announced the first “Mayor for a Day” contest. In honor of the city’s upcoming 50th anniversary, contestants must submit a one- to two-page essay addressing what he or she would do to lead Colleyville into the next 50 years. The contest is open to Colleyville residents, ages 11-14. “Colleyville’s kids are our future and it is never too early to get them involved. I am anticipating that contestants will provide us with a unique perspective on the future of our community,” remarked Colleyville Mayor David Kelly. Contest entries must be submitted by Oct. 14. The winner will be announced Monday, Oct. 24 and will serve as honorary mayor on Tuesday, Nov. 1. He or she will co-preside with Mayor Kelly over the regularly scheduled City Council meeting and spend the day meeting with city leaders and touring city facilities, including the Justice Center and fire department.
