Colleyville Fire Department adds deputy emergency management coordinator
Colleyville, Texas… Andrea Gruben has joined the Colleyville Fire Department as deputy emergency management coordinator. Gruben’s experience includes serving as an emergency planning specialist for Tarrant County Public Health and as an emergency management consultant for the city of River Oaks. She has also worked with the North Central Texas Council of Governments. While at the University of North Texas, Gruben worked as an intern for the city of Colleyville, reviewing and assisting in the development and upgrade of the city’s Emergency Operations Plan.

“As a city, we have a responsibility to provide for the safety of our citizens. We’re aware that emergencies can occur at any time and that the best time to plan for them is before they happen. Andrea’s background and experience in emergency management and coordination will be invaluable to us and a real asset to the citizens of Colleyville,” stated Fire Chief Mike Johnston. Chief Johnston also serves as the city’s emergency management coordinator.

In addition to her emergency management planning activities, Gruben will develop grant proposals and serve as the city’s liaison to area emergency preparedness groups. She will also monitor the city’s emergency warning system and provide outreach programs to the local community.

Gruben holds a bachelor’s of science degree in emergency administration and planning from the University of North Texas, where she graduated with high honors.
