| Grand opening set for senior center |

Colleyville, Texas…The grand opening of Colleyville’s new senior center is scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 24. An open house and tours of the new facility will be conducted from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Mayor David Kelly and members of the Senior Center Advisory Committee will kick off the festivities with a dedication ribbon cutting at 5:00 p.m. The public is invited. Once the ceremonies are complete, activities move inside for an old-fashioned supper and social. Marion Jenkins’ popular band, the Plantation Jammers, will perform. The new 10,000-s.f. facility features a game room, complete with billiards, table tennis, craft room, full-scale computer lab, library, coffee bar, large assembly area, and a lounge equipped with a big-screen television. The center will offer computer classes, sit-and-stitch craft groups, open game play, and Tuesday night supper and social events. Other activities include monthly theater visits with Theater Trekkers, monthly restaurant outings with the Menu Gang, AARP driving courses and tax assistance, and various group outings. Located at 2512 Glade Road in Colleyville, Senior Center hours are Tuesday, 8:00 a.m.-noon and 5:00-9:00 p.m.; Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-noon; and Friday, 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The center is open for adults 50 and older.
