Colleyville to recognize model neighborhoods
Colleyville, Texas…On Wednesday, June 28, Colleyville will honor three neighborhoods that have received the Model Neighborhood designation from Keep Colleyville Beautiful. The Lakes of Somerset, Mill Creek, and Woodbriar Estates neighborhoods are the first recipients to be recognized as part of the of the new program. Mayor David Kelly, City Manager Bill Lindley, Chamber of Commerce President Ret Stansberger, and neighborhood representatives will participate in unveiling the Model Neighborhood signs. The new signage will be unveiled during a “rolling” ceremony conducted at the entrance to each neighborhood. Times are:  Lakes of Sommerset, 10:00 a.m.; Woodbriar Estates, 10:20 a.m.; and Mill Creek, 10:40 a.m.

        Each neighborhood has committed on an annual basis to the criteria set forth by the Model Neighborhood Committee. The criteria are as follows:

1. Pick up litter from streets and public areas monthly

2. Designate a beautification/landscape group or individual

3. Maintain all common grounds

4. Mark storm drains with approved markers

5. Review street lights and signage monthly

6. Participate in the Neighbors-on-Watch (N.O.W.) program coordinated by the Colleyville Police

   Department.
