Art and baseball team up for Colleyville's first Culturefest
Colleyville, Texas…Imagine baseball, face painting, summer reading, and world class artists and photographers and you get Colleyville’s first CultureFest event, scheduled July 27 at the Colleyville Public Library and the Village at Colleyville. Art and literature have always gone together, but rarely have they merged so well for pure family fun and entertainment.

The Colleyville Public Library, celebrating its traditional Grand Slam Finale for its summer reading program, has joined forces with Ios Fine Art and Publishing for a unique event featuring Grand Slam favorites—music, games, children’s rides, face painting, Radio Disney, and a special appearance by former Texas Ranger star Rusty Greer—and an interactive, up-close perspective on fine contemporary art.

Henrietta Milan, Olympic artist Rip Kastaris, and Gail Nogle headline the artist lineup. CultureFest guests will get a behind-the-scenes demonstration of artist’s techniques and mastery, as well the opportunity to put their own artistic attributes in play. Digital artists round out the field, demonstrating the metamorphosis from photos to virtual paintings on canvas.

The event is free and open to the public. Artist demonstrations begin at 4:00 p.m. on the second floor of the city’s library complex at 110 Main Street in Colleyville. The outdoor Library Grand Slam activities start at 6:00 p.m. Rusty Greer will sign autographs from 6:30-7:00 p.m. CultureFest concludes at 9:00 p.m. Parking is free at the Village at Colleyville, the adjacent Kroger parking lot, and at City Park, west of City Hall.

CultureFest is presented by the city of Colleyville, Colleyville Public Library, and Ios Fine Art and Publishing. Participating sponsors include the Village at Colleyville, MetroCinema Group, Colleyville Parks and Recreation Department, and Radio Disney.
