| Additional Projects Suggested by CIP Committee |
|
The committee identified five additional projects that are needed to address safety and congestion concerns throughout the city. The cost of these projects totals slightly more than $14 million dollars. Details of these projects are included in the Colleyville Street CIP Report. The following is a brief description of each project and justification for the improvement: Bransford Road from Glade to Shelton This roadway serves major city park facilities and currently has deep ditches that may present a safety hazard to motorists. Improvements would eliminate the deep ditches and provide sidewalks for pedestrians. Cheek Sparger from Brown Trail to Highway 26 This section of roadway includes a sharp curve that has been the site of several accidents during the past several years. Improvements would address this hazard. Jackson from Shenandoah to Cheek Sparger This section of roadway includes a low water crossing that is not passable during and after heavy rains. The existing bridge structures are narrow and include concrete headwalls on the edge of the travel way that may present a hazard to motorists. Improvements would provide an all-weather access to area residents and emergency vehicles. ![]() Tinker Road from SH 26 to Pleasant Run This section of roadway includes some improved sections with curbs and gutters and some unimproved sections. The roadway will be more heavily utilized with the opening of the new Colleyville Elementary School. Improvements will address drainage issues in the area and will provide a consistent cross-section for the roadway, and will realign the intersection with SH 26. Shelton from Bransford to Pleasant Run This section of roadway will be more heavily utilized by school traffic with the opening of the new Colleyville Elementary School. Improvements would eliminate deep ditches and would provide sidewalks for pedestrians. The committee recommended these projects to improve the safety and congestion levels on roadways and are viewed by the committee as an investment in the future of the city. The committee suggests that the additional projects be pursued when funding is available. |
