Project Description
The Joint and Crack Seal Program rehabilitates streets and roadways through the application of a hot, rubberized asphalt material to seal cracks in the pavement. Crack and joint seal maintenance is performed on a five-year maintenance cycle by subdivision. This procedure is done to help prevent water from penetrating asphalt and concrete pavement. If it is not done, cracking, pumping and the breakdown of the subgrade structure of asphalt and concrete pavement can occur.
