| History of the Office of the City Manager |
|
The city of Colleyville was founded in 1956, and has a city council-city manager form of government. The City Charter was initially adopted in 1976, and updated in 2005, by the voters. The city is governed by a six-member city council, composed of a mayor and five councilmembers, all elected at large.
Under this type of local government, the day-to-day management of the city is directed by the city manager. As the city has grown over the years, the Office of the City Manager has grown and now includes an assistant city manager, budget and administrative services manager, management assistant, executive secretary, and communications manager.
