Children's Programs
Storytime
Registration for Spring 2010 children's programs begins January 18, 2010. Programs start Monday, January 25th. Click here for the Spring 2010 Brochure.

Preregistration is required for all story times and chess club. Colleyville residents will have first priority. Non-residents will be put on a waiting list and will be notified two weeks after the program begins, if room is available. Children may only be registered for one program. They must be the age of the story time on or before the first week of story time.

The following programs are currently offered at the library:

  • Ones and Twos Story Time for one and two year olds. This program last approximately 30 minutes and includes finger plays, rhymes, songs and activities.
  • Tots and Tales Story Time for two to three year olds. This program last approximately 45 minutes and includes, finger plays, rhymes, songs, activities and a color page.
  • Preschool Story Time for three to five year olds. This program lasts one hour and includes stories, songs, fingerplays, activities, a craft, and a short video.
  • Snacks and Stories: A story time for school-aged children (Grades K-3). Come to the library after school for snacks, stories and crafts.
  • Friday Bounce Time for ages 3 and under only and their care givers. This unstructure library time will feature a play area, activities, music for your little one. Please note care giver participation is required.
CHESS CLUB  

An after school Chess Club activity is held one day per week in the Fall and Spring  for partcipants between the ages of 8-15. Sessions last for 1 hour and introduce participants to the ancient game of Chess. Participants learn basic rules of movement, strategy and tactics. There is also a session of Chess Club that runs concurrently with the Summer Reading Program.
SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Each year the Library offers a Summer Reading Program for residents of Colleyville. The program starts in June and ends in July with a finale party. Join us each week during the summer as we have activities, performers, story time and movie days.
LIBRARY TOURS
If your scout troop, home school group or school class would like a tour of the library please contact the Youth Services Department (817-503-1154).
FAMILY ACTIVITIES
Join us once a month for a fun and free activity the whole family can enjoy. Past activities have included Movie Day, Craft Day, and special theme parties.
YA - VolunTEENS
Are you interested in doing volunteer work for the library? Do you need volunteer hours for school?  If you are between the ages of 13-19 please contact Angela Bailey for information on volunteer opportunities.
