The Board has specific roles and responsibilities, and they strive diligently to carry out these duties to the best of their ability.  The primary purpose is to consider requests for a waiver or a variance of a particular regulation.  The Board consists of five regular and two alternate members, each serving a staggered two year term, appointed by the City Council.
