Q: Where is the Library?

The Colleyville Library is located in the City Hall complex at 110 Main St, Colleyville, TX.

Q: When is the Library open?
A: Monday and Wednesday 10:00 am—6:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 am—8:00 pm, Friday10:00 am—5:00 pm, Saturday,10:00 am—3:00 pm, Sunday CLOSED.

Q: Does the Library have story times for kids?
A: We offer story times during the fall and spring. The story time sessions run for 12 weeks. The fall session starts in September and the spring session starts in January. Registration is required for each program. Registration must be done in-person and you must be a Library cardholder.  Colleyville residents will have first priority. Non-residents will be put on a waiting list and will be notified 2 weeks after the program begins if room is available. Children may only be registered for one program. They must be the age of the story time on or before the first week of story time.

The following programs are currently offered at the library:
Books and Babies story time for ages 3 months old- Pre-walker. This program lasts approximately 30 minutes and includes finger plays, rhymes, songs and a playtime. Please make other arrangements for older siblings during this time.

Ones and Twos Story Time for one and two year olds. This program lasts approximately 20 minutes and includes finger plays, rhymes, songs and activities.

Tots and Tales Story Time for two to three year olds. This program lasts approximately 30 minutes and includes, finger plays, rhymes, songs, activities and a color page.

Preschool Story Time for three to five year olds. This program lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour and includes songs, activities, a craft, and a short video.

Q: Can I search the Library’s catalog from the World Wide Web?

Q: How do I get a library card?

A:
Colleyville Residents may bring in a picture ID and proof of residence to the library to obtain a library card.

Q: What is the loan period for library materials?
A:
Books may be checked out for 3 weeks and renewed once if there are no holds for other patrons. Please note there are the following exceptions for loan periods: Magazines, Adult DVD’s, Children’s DVDs, Music CD’s have a 7 day borrowing period.

Q: What are your fines on late materials?
A:
An item carries a 25 cent per day overdue fee, except feature length DVD’s that carry a $1.00 per day overdue fee.

Q: What are your restrictions on borrowing?
A:
If a person accrues $5.00 in fines, a restriction on borrowing privileges will be enforced.

Q: How can I place a hold for an item?
A:
Most items may be renewed in person, by calling the circulation department, or on-line by using your patron’s library card number and (PIN).

Q: Do you have a limit on materials?
A:
Yes, our limit is 40 items per card. Please note there is a limit of 10for Music CD’s, Adult Feature Length DVD, Juvenile DVD’s, Non-fiction DVD’s and Juvenile Books with CDs.

Q: I lost my library card. What should I do?
A:
New library cards are issued to patrons who bring in a picture I.D. If the patron loses the library card, the patron is required to reregister and pay a replacement fee of $2.00.

Q: Do you have an Interlibrary Loan service?
A:
Yes, Colleyville Residents with a valid Colleyville Public Library card may request to borrow materials from the collections of other libraries nationwide. The lending library will set the loan length and due dates.  It takes anywhere from 4 days to 4 weeks to receive the item, with the majority of the items arriving in around 10 days.  A $2.00 charge will be assessed for items ordered that are not checked out. These requests can be made at the reference desk.

Q: Does the library have computers available for the public to use?

A:
Colleyville Public Library has public access computers which may be used free of charge with a valid library card. The public access computers have Internet access, email and word processing capabilities.

Q: How do I renew items online?
A: 
Click on: Renew materials then:
  • Click on the Account/Patron Review link
  • Enter your Patron / Alternate ID Number and PIN.  Your Patron / Alternate ID Number will be your library card number.  The PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a password you set up with the library staff in order to access your account from home.  If you did not set one up when you signed up for your library card, we set one up for you.  It must be 4-6 characters: numbers, letters, or a combination of both. If you set one up, but do not remember it, we can reset it for you
  • When you log in you will see your account information and the items you have checked out
  • Select the item(s) you wish to renew by clicking the box next to the item(s)
  • Click on Renew Checked Items
  • Not the new due date next to the items.
You will not be allowed to renew items if the item is overdue or if fines on your account exceed $5.00.

Q: How can I reserve a title online?
A:   
Search for the items you wish to place a hold on.  Once you find a title you wish to reserve:
  • Click on the title
  • Click on the HOLD REQUEST button at the top of the screen
  • Under “Please enter the following information,” enter your Patron / Alternate ID Number and PIN number (Your Patron / Alternate ID Number will be your library card number, unless you have changed it online.  Your PIN number is a 4-6 character password you set up with library staff)
  • Click on Submit Request. If the hold is placed, you will receive a confirmation screen that says “Your hold has been approved for:”
Q: What is a PIN?
A:
A PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a password you set up with the library staff in order to access your account from home.
