Property Section / Evidence Room

The security and integrity of all property and evidence is handled, stored, and processed with the highest standards. All evidence is bar-coded when received, assigned, placed in designated locations, and held until it is needed for court or released to the owner.

All “found” property is kept for 90 days. Items received that have identifying marks or numbers that can be traced to the owner are returned to the owner when possible. Unclaimed items can be destroyed after 90 days. The Colleyville Police Department does not keep, sell, or auction weapons that are seized from criminal investigations. All firearms that cannot be returned to the owner are listed on court orders to be destroyed.

If you need to pick up property, please contact a member of our Criminal Investigations Division at 817.503.1200 to schedule an appointment. Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Photo identification is required for property to be released.
