Library Director Mary E. Rodne 110 Main Street Colleyville, Texas 76034 817.503.1153 Mary Rodne has worked in libraries her entire professional career. She began her career as a school district librarian in Montana. She decided to make a career in public libraries and moved to Minnesota to pursue a Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She worked four years as a school district librarian in southern Minnesota and then decided to attend the University of Minnesota full-time to complete her degree. While attending the University of Minnesota, she worked part-time at the Minneapolis Public Library and Minneapolis Public Schools as a librarian. When she completed her degree in Library Science, she moved to Illinois and served as a library director for 20 years in two suburbs of Chicago; Summit, four years; Bloomingdale, 16 years. While in Bloomingdale, she oversaw two library expansion projects. In addition to working in the library, she has always been involved in planning special events. While working in Bloomingdale, she chaired numerous large special events for the community. Attracted by an opportunity to start a new library, Mary Rodne moved to Texas in March 2003, to work for the City of Colleyville as its first library director. Prior Experience
