Colleyville,
Texas…The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence
in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the city of Colleyville
for its comprehensive
annual financial report (CAFR) by the Government Finance Officers Association
of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The Certificate of Achievement is
the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting
and financial
reporting. Colleyville received the award for its CAFR for the fiscal year
ended September 30, 2004.
“We are really proud of this award. Communicating about city finances is a complicated endeavor, so for our efforts to be recognized by an association as prestigious as the GFOA lets us know that we’re doing well in providing financial information to our constituents,” remarked City Manager Bill Lindley. The city’s financial report is designed and developed by the finance department. The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR. The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 16,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, Ill. and Washington, D.C. |
