Community Services provides services needed by the community to enhance the overall quality of life in Colleyville, other than those provided by the Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions.
Public Service Officer David Harlem There are four sworn officers and one non-sworn officer assigned to the Community Services Division. Three sworn officers are assigned to schools within the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District. These officers serve as D.A.R.E. and school resource officers (SROs), providing students, staff, and school facilities with direct one-on-one police services. D.A.R.E. and SROs schedules coincide with school schedules, and officers also attend extra-curricular school functions as part of their official duties. The fourth sworn officer serves the community through direct interaction in all areas of the city, including the business community, residential organizations, civic organizations, and public and private schools. The community services officer is a certified crime prevention specialist who, upon request, may conduct business and residential security surveys and inspections for homeowner insurance discounts. Personal, residential, vehicle, and travel safety are a few of the topics available for presentations to the public. The non-sworn officer assists the department in many areas, including monitoring jail population, animal control, dispatch, records, and other assignments that provide services to the citizens of Colleyville.
