Pet Licenses Dogs and cats are required by city ordinance to have and wear a city pet license. The pet licenses are available at the Colleyville Police Department for a $4.00 charge. You must bring a copy of the animal’s rabies vaccination for a license to be issued and the license must be renewed every year. Rabies Vaccinations The Colleyville Rabies Ordinance applies to all dogs, cats, and other household pets four (4) months of age or older. Within the city limits, pets shall be immunized against rabies and given a booster one year after the initial vaccination. Following the first two vaccinations, dogs, cats, and other household pets may be vaccinated at either one-year or three-year intervals, depending on the type of rabies vaccine used. Animal Traps Colleyville Animal Control has traps that can be loaned to residents upon request for removal of wild and domestic animals. There is no charge for this service. If you have your own trap and want an animal control officer (ACO) to empty it, there is a $20.00 charge. When setting personal traps, if you want Animal Control to remove the animal, you must cover the trap with a trash bag or towel when setting it (just in case you catch a skunk). This allows the ACO to approach the trap without getting sprayed. If you have any questions about how to cover the trap call animal control officer Michelle Benton at 817.503.1280, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. or via email at . Any trap that is not covered and catches a skunk will not be removed by Animal Control. |
