Q. Where does our water come from?

A. The city of Colleyville purchases treated water from the Tarrant County Water Supply Project. This water treatment plant is operated by the Trinity River Authority (TRA) which also supplies water to Bedford, Euless, portions of Grapevine and North Richland Hills.

Q. Where does our wastewater go to be treated?

A. Colleyville’s wastewater is treated by the TRA at the Central Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Grand Prairie. This plant treats the wastewater from 26 cities in the area.

Q. What is the hardness of my water?

A. The hardness of the water ranges from 80 mg/l to 130 mg/l

Q. Is my water tested?

A. Yes, the city submits 24 bacteriological samples each month. We are required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to submit these samples and also monitor the chlorine residual daily. These samples are collected at various sites throughout the city. We also test for lead and copper in the water.

Q. How can I get city water and sewer lines located and how much does this service cost?

A. Please call the Public Works Service Center at 817.540.0609 and request water and sewer line locates. If you are a contractor working or excavating within the public right of way, you will need to apply for a ROW permit. The fee is $50.00. There is no charge for line locates for homeowners.

Q. Is Colleyville part of the DIG TESS one-call system for locating underground utilities?

A. The city is not part of the DIG TESS one-call system. To locate underground utilities other than city water and sewer lines, call 1.800.DIGTESS a minimum of 48 hours prior to digging.
