Utility Operations

The Utility Operations Department ensures that adequate supplies of clean and safe drinking water are provided throughout the year, and that the wastewater collection system operates at optimum capacity.

Water Quality
The Utility Operations Department submits 24 samples monthly as required by the state for bacteriological testing. We also monitor the chlorine residual on a daily basis. The Utility Operations Department operates our Cross Connection Control Program, which helps to ensure a safe water supply for Colleyville.

Water Distribution
Maintenance and operation of the water distribution system, consisting of approximately 175 miles of water mains; 8,200 water meters; and 1,200 fire hydrants.

Water Storage and Pumping
Maintenance and operation of three elevated water towers, two water pumping facilities, and one ground storage tank.

Wastewater Collection
Maintenance and operation of the wastewater collection system consisting of 154 miles of wastewater mains; 1,680 manholes; and two wastewater pumping facilities.
