Center Receives Bride's Choice Award

One of the largest Internet sites for brides has named the Colleyville Center winner of the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award for ceremony and reception venues. Of the 271 venues listed in the Dallas- Fort Worth region, the sprawling, nine-acre center was named one of the 15 best by area brides.

In its inaugural year, the Bride's Choice Awards recognized vendors from the WeddingWire Network (www.weddingwire.com) that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride's Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

"First of all, the Colleyville Center is a BEAUTIFUL venue," said one reviewer. "The main room has huge windows, the hallways are big, and they've got two rooms you can use for anything else."    Among the other amenities guests enjoyed were the Center's unique location and affordable pricing. An eight-hour rental for the entire facility starts at a mere $1,400 - a fraction of what most wedding venues of such caliber charge.
The Colleyville Center hosts more than 600 events and 20,000 guests every year. An elegant, functional facility offering a variety of flexible meeting room spaces and amenities, the Center is equipped to handle anything from the simplest luncheon to the most extravagant wedding. With banquet seating for 360 or theatre seating for 500, the Center’s elegance focuses on the Grand Hall with its soaring ceiling and wall of Palladian windows. The Grand Hall is equipped with a full catering kitchen and performance stage, sound and lighting system, and full range of A/V equipment.
The city-owned facility opened in early 1998, after many years of planning, fundraising, and organizing by Colleyville civic organizations, city leaders, and residents. The Colleyville Garden Club, in cooperation with the Colleyville Woman’s Club and Colleyville Lions Club, donated the Garden Plaza to the city. Proceeds from the Garden Club’s annual Promenade Garden Tour funded a large portion of the plaza construction.
