COLLEYVILLE HOSTS CITYWIDE OPEN HOUSE

Colleyville, TexasJanuary is shaping up to be a big month in Colleyville. The city will celebrate the opening of two new fire stations, commemorate the 10th anniversary of Colleyville Center, open the first phase of a major city park, and mark the 52nd anniversary of the city’s incorporation. The festivities begin Thursday, Jan. 10, with a citywide open house of city facilities. Open house locations are: Colleyville City Hall, 100 Main Street; Colleyville Public Works, 1601 Hall Johnson Road; Colleyville Justice Center, 5201 Riverwalk Drive; Colleyville Senior Center, 2512 Glade Road; Colleyville Public Library, 110 Main Street; Colleyville Parks and Recreation, 5109 Bransford Road; and, the Colleyville Fire Department, 5209 Colleyville Boulevard. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The public is welcome to visit any or all facilities for tours and refreshments. Visitors to Colleyville Center also will receive a commemorative Colleyville Center 10th anniversary mug.

On Saturday, Jan. 12, the city will host the grand opening of Colleyville’s two new fire stations: Central Fire Station and Fire Station No. 2, located at 5209 Colleyville Boulevard and 5212 Pool Road, respectively. A dual ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Central Fire Station, followed by behind-the-scenes tours of both stations conducted continuously until 2:00 p.m. The public is welcome to all activities.

The city will mark the official opening of the first phase of McPherson Park on Saturday, Jan. 26. Opening-day activities include the dedication of the McPherson Dairy historical marker, unveiling of the renovated historical log barn, and lots of activities for kids and families. The new park boasts a pavilion, basketball and sand volleyball courts, and a state-of-the-art playscape. McPherson Park is located adjacent to Fire Station No. 3 on
McDonwell School Road.

Colleyville Center will host its official anniversary celebration on Monday, March 3.
