The Colleyville Public Library has turned into a real zoo! At least during the summer reading program: Read! Explore! Go Wild! That’s the slogan for the Colleyville Public Library’s safari-themed summer reading program. Through August, the library will be filled with family activities, special events, performers, animal shows, and expanded programming. The program culminates with a Summer Reading Grand Finale on Aug. 7. |

Commuter rail is a big issue in Colleyville right now. In April, the Colleyville City Council formed a Commuter Rail Citizen Committee to study the effects of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority’s (The T) proposed plans for a southwest-to-northeast commuter rail line, along with considering the costs and benefits of constructing a rail station in Colleyville. To keep the public informed, the committee has created a Commuter Rail Citizen Committee webpage on this site. The commuter rail webpage contains information on the committee, the latest information regarding the proposed plan, links to pertinent websites (including the T’s commuter rail page), and links for citizens to provide input on the proposed project. Access to the Commuter Rail Citizen Committee webpage will be available on the front page of this website via the blue navigation bar. For immediate access to the commuter rail page, click here. |

Sensor Rebate Deadline Approaching |
According to city ordinance, all automatic irrigation systems in the city must be fitted with rain and freeze sensors by August 2008. To encourage compliance with the ordinance, the City Council has granted a one-time $20 rebate (credit) on customer water bills. In August 2006, the Colleyville City Council adopted Ordinance O-06-1587 amending the water conservation and drought contingency plan. One part of the plan calls for all automatic irrigation systems to be fitted with rain and freeze sensors by August 2008. To assist our residential and commercial customers, the city of Colleyville is offering a one-time $20 rebate (credit) on water usage fees, following verification of rain and freeze sensors installed by August 31, 2008. The rebate will appear as a credit on a future water bill. | |
